Flywheel Brewing, Rhinegeist join Kentucky Craft Beer Festival

May 24, 2017

Presenting sponsors join effort to help local nonprofits

Elizabethtown, Ky. – Kentucky Craft Beer Festival organizers today announced Rhinegeist and Flywheel Brewing are presenting brewery sponsors of the festival, set for June 17 at the historic Brown-Pusey House in downtown Elizabethtown.

“We couldn’t be more excited to not only welcome Rhinegeist back to Elizabethtown this year for the second Kentucky Craft Beer Festival, but also to involve Elizabethtown’s first and only microbrewery,” said Kenny Rambo, co-founder of the Kentucky Craft Beer Festival.

Brews from Cincinnati-based Rhinegeist will be among the many craft beers from around the state and beyond that attendees can sample at the festival.

“Kentucky Craft Beer Festival is a great way for us to promote this booming industry and to connect with craft beer enthusiasts,” said Luke Thacker of Rhinegeist. “We are definitely looking forward to getting back to Elizabethtown.”

Flywheel Brewing’s Aaron Hawkins said the festival is a natural fit for the downtown Elizabethtown brewery. They will on hand to share the latest on their brewery and taproom expected to open this summer.

“We thought it was important to be a part of our home festival,” Hawkins said. “We also wanted to step up and support worthy local causes through Give 270.”

The festival is a fundraiser for Give 270, a non-profit established in 2016 to help fulfill unmet needs in Hardin, LaRue and Meade counties. Give 270 partners with United Way of Central Kentucky to identify those needs.

Also returning to the festival is gold level sponsor Liquor Barn as well as the official designated driver sponsor and Kentucky icon Ale-8-One.

Updates on the festival brewery line up, information on the homebrew competition and ticket sales are available at www.kycraftbeerfest.com.

Kentucky Craft Beer Festival organizers today welcomed Ale-8-One as the festival’s official Designated Driver Sponsor.

The festival, set for June 18 at the historic Brown-Pusey House in Elizabethtown, will feature a number of craft beers brewed throughout Kentucky and beyond as well as Ale-8-One, the only soft drink invented in Kentucky that is still in existence.

“Kentucky Craft Beer Festival organizers are excited to include this Kentucky icon in the inaugural event,” said Kenny Rambo, co-founder of the Kentucky Craft Beer Festival.

DeAnne Elmore, marketing and public relations manager for Ale-8-One, which celebrates its 90th anniversary this year, said the festival is a fun way to support the community.

“With Ale-8-One recently expanding into the Elizabethtown area and Western Kentucky markets, we especially look forward to the Kentucky Craft Beer Festival and supporting some worthy local causes,” Elmore said.

The festival is a fundraiser for Give 270, a non-profit established earlier this year to help fulfill unmet needs in Hardin, LaRue and Meade counties. The non-profit has partnered with United Way of Central Kentucky to identify those needs.

At the festival, attendees can sample Ale-8-One as well as craft beers from around the state and beyond. Ale-8-One joins presenting brewery sponsor Cincinnati-based Rhinegeist and gold level sponsor Liquor Barn in Elizabethtown.
